Start off doing some whale and bird watching around Isla Todos Santos and in the evening make sure to spend some time on deck relaxing and watch the amazing sunset descend over the waters. Around Islas San Benito view elephant seals and rare Guadalupe fur seals. The vast San Ignacio Lagoon is where hundreds of whales can be found.

Enter the Lagoon In skiffs and encounter some of these amazing animals. Some come so close that they rub up the side of the skiffs! When leaving the lagoon you may spot blue and humpback whales plus Pacific white sided dolphins offshore feeding in the waters.

There is also a wide variety of birds to be seen on this trip. See royal, caspian, elegant, Forster’s and common terns skimming across the waters and Yellow-footed and Heermann’s gulls can be seen flying alongside the boat.

Also watch out for ring-billed, western, Bonaparte’s, and California gulls. Red-billed tropic bird, brown pelican, brown booby, nesting osprey and a host of waders, cormorants, herons, egrets and ducks. This will be a real treat for birdwatchers!

Next head to Cabo San Lucas to witness spectacular humpback whales singing, this is their traditional mating spot where many can be seen. Sailing further out to the Sea of Cortez the world’s largest animal can be seen, the amazing blue whale.

This is a favourite nursery ground for blue whale mothers, so you may be lucky and spot some calves! As well as blue whales look out for fin, sperm, dwarf sperm, minke, Bryde’s and short-finned pilot whales which inhabit this area.

Bottlenose, short-beaked and long-beaked common dolphins are also common in this area and often appear in pods of hundreds.
