The stunning beaches have a wide array of bars, curio shops, markets and a stunning variety of places to eat from delicious restaurants to seaside taco stands. Banderas Bay has over 40 kilometres of coastline. In the south head to Conchas Chinas for tropical sands and secluded tide pools. In the North is Playa de Oro which is great for watersports and has perfect waves for surfing.

In between the two is Los Muertos, the cities most visited beach. With lots of restaurant-bars on offer and mariachi bands playing across the golden sands this is the perfect beach to get you in the party mood. 
The pedestrianised Malecon is the heart of the city. Start at the fishermen’s market and continue down to the amphitheatre where you can watch nightly folk dancing and clown shows. As you make your way down the Malecon you will see some of the musicians and street artists performing, look out for some amazing sand sculptures and bronze statues. 

If you want to see some of the traditional Mexican handicrafts visit the ceramic tile shops along the Malecon. Many of the stores will put on glass blowing demos and show you some of the traditional techniques that they use on their tiles. Visit the tequila distilleries in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains and get a walk-through of the cooking, fermenting, distilling and ageing process of the tequilas. Afterwards you will be able to sample some of the tequila that they produce.
