To get a feel for the city head to Bellini, the biggest revolving restaurant in the world. Wherever you sit you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire city while you eat. Head to La Central de Abasto to visit the biggest wholesale market in the world and pick up a delicious Quesadilla to eat as you go around.

Zócalo (the city’s main square) is well worth a visit. From here you can visit the Presidental Palace and the Catedral Metropolitana. Aztec dancers play traditional music throughout the square, it is the perfect place to grab a Mexican hot chocolate and some Churros (Mexican fritters covered in sugar). 

The city has wide selection of night-time activities including ballet, opera, folklore shows, bars and nightclubs. Live Cuban music and tropical salsa clubs are always popular throughout the city. For a cultural outing head to Casa Azul (Blue House), renowned Mexican artist Frida Kahlo’s home that she was born in and lived in all her life. The house has now become a museum housing the artists’ work as well as mementos and personal belongings of the artist.  

For a taste of authentic Mexico head to family run eatery El Hidalguense. To start sample the rich consume or queso asado (grilled cheese with herbs). For mains try their famous tacos and to drink try Pulque an alcoholic drink made from the fermented sap of the maguey plant.
